Landlines

Having been raised in Yorkshire and spent many family holidays climbing peaks in the Lake District I love tracing lines in the landscape. Once you start looking there are so many. Add Paul Klee’s idea of “taking a line for a walk” and my underglaze pencil started tracing fence lines, silhouettes of crags and layered horizons, all abstracted onto the canvas of the clay to make useful, simple, and elegant tableware.

Finished with a transparent glaze and fired in an electric kiln, this collection elevates the everyday experience of eating, drinking and sharing food with loved ones.
