Terra: Sustainability Pavilion, Dubai Expo
Created in collaboration with Eden Project International and Grimshaw Architects, we conceived the host pavilion at the Dubai Expo as an invitation for visitors to engage with choices, experiences and environments that place them at the heart of today’s challenges: climate emergency and biodiversity loss, mass pollution, and insatiable consumption. Visitors have time and space to reflect on what it will take to change behaviours and relationships to enable all of us to flourish with planet earth.
Through immersive journeys among oceans and forests, visitors witness how these environments are continually depleted by human activity. They are then challenged to consider how their own behaviours and attitudes might change to help re-establish an equilibrium with the natural world that is necessary for our collective survival and flourishing. Ultimately, Terra frames sustainability as a quest we must all embrace to protect what we value most ourselves.
